Purpleheart is a wood found in central and South America. The trees are prized for their beautiful heartwood which, when cut, quickly turns from a light brown to a rich purple color. Exposure to ultraviolet light darkens the wood to a brown color with a slight hue of the original purple. The dry timber is very hard, stiff, and dense. It is very durable and water-resistant.
 
These pens are turned on a lathe, sanded and finished with melamine lacquer and microcrystalline wax for protection and to retain the natural feel of the wood. A wooden presentation box option is available in here. 
 
These pens come with black ink, working with a twist action from the back and are refillable with 'Parker' style refills.
